Estate sale
What is an "estate sale"?
An estate sale is basically a big indoor sale where you can buy items from someone's entire home. Unlike yard sales where people are just clearing out unwanted items, estate sales typically happen when someone has passed away, moved to assisted living, or when a home has been foreclosed or abandoned.
These sales are held inside the actual house, and you'll find a much wider variety of possessions that have been collected over someone's lifetime. We're talking about everything—furniture, clothing, kitchenware, art, jewelry, and sometimes even rare collectibles or antiques.
Estate sales are usually run by professional companies hired by the family to handle the process. They'll research and price the items beforehand, so unlike yard sales, haggling isn't typically welcome (though prices might drop on the final day).
They're more structured too—they run for several days (usually Friday through Sunday), you might get a number to wait in line, and for valuable pieces, there might be a bidding process. If you're looking for quality furniture, antiques, or unique treasures with history, estate sales are goldmines worth checking out!
