Yard sale

A yard sale (sometimes called a garage sale or garden sale in the UK) is an informal event where people sell unwanted household items directly from their property.

Unlike car boot sales, yard sales take place at the seller's home, with items displayed in their front garden, driveway, or garage. They usually happen on weekends, especially during spring and summer, and are advertised through local community boards, social media, or signs posted around the neighbourhood.

Yard sales are great for finding everything from clothes and accessories to homeware, books, and furniture at super cheap prices. Since sellers just want to clear space rather than make loads of money, you can often haggle for even lower prices, especially later in the day.

While they're more of an American thing, yard sales are getting more popular in the UK, particularly in suburban and rural areas. They're perfect for thrifters looking for unique finds without having to compete with crowds of other shoppers.
